Leading with Safety - leading to an injury free culture |
| |
Despite the desire to achieve continuous improvement in safety performance, many organisations see their incident rates rise and fall in the accident cycle. And even safety leaders who break free from the cycle nonetheless experience performance plateaus; their continuing efforts do not bring them continuous improvement. By focusing on upstream indicators and engaging each level of the organisation in meaningful and appropriate ways, organisations are making a step change in safety performance.
In this session, learn about applying comprehensive safety solutions to move your organisation toward an injury-free culture. Learn what exposure is, how to identify it, and how to measure it. Understand why employees do what they do and how to target improvement efforts as a result. Become acquainted with the critical elements of successful engagement approaches to safety performance, and learn why leadership at all levels is a necessary component to achieve lasting change. |

Applications of 3D Laser Scanning in an offshore environment
|
| |
Conventional survey methods in an offshore environment present many hazardous working environments to surveyors. The recent advancements of 3D laser scanning technology have provided surveyors with an alternative method for improving the precision of data acquisition of complex structures for traditional survey and dimensional control requirements.
Applicable for any situation requiring complete and accurate data with quick acquisition times, laser scanning operations can be conducted from a safe distance with 6mm accuracy acquiring data in potentially unsafe working environments in both day and night conditions.
Ideal for interference checks, as-built surveys, retrofit design and upgrades, acquired data can be modelled intelligently for easy integration into CAD and various structural and piping modelling software.
McMullen Nolan has been involved in a variety of offshore projects for industry leaders such as; Woodside Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, Transfield Worley and Oceaneering.
Members of the 3D Laser Scanning team will conduct a live demonstration of the 3D Laser Scanner and provide case study examples of previous work conducted in the offshore oil and gas environment. |

Developments in Tugboat and Offshore Support Vessel Design and Operation in the Oil and Gas Industry |
| |
Some emerging trends in the oil and gas industry have provided the stimulus for recent developments in tugboat and offshore support vessel design and operation, amongst them the increasing share of oil and gas discoveries and production situated in deepwater; the increasing size of LNG carriers to control shipping costs in response to the industries continued globalisation and the siting of LNG terminals in more exposed locations.
Against this background the presentation will examine the development of the LAMAPS, Azimuth Floating Production Support vessel; specifically designed to meet the greater demands of the offshore deepwater environment, focusing on the improvements it provides over more conventional solutions in the FPSO support role. The challenges for the marine terminal support fleet as a result of siting LNG terminals in more exposed locations coupled with the dramatic increase in the size of LNG carriers and the investment in training and development needed to support future growth opportunities.

Captain Gary Dockerty |
| |
Captain Gary Dockerty will be making the Presentation. Following sixteen years at sea, including six years in Shell’s deep sea fleet serving predominantly on oil tankers, LPG and LNG tankers, Gary moved ashore in 1998 to take up a post as Marine Facilities Adviser for LNG project development with Shell Trading and Shipping (STASCO) in London. He then spent two years as a Technical Advisor with the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators (SIGTTO) before taking up a post as Marine Consultant with London Offshore Consultants in the UK, acting on behalf of P&I clubs and owners in primarily salvage operations and accident investigation. Since joining Lamnalco in 2004 Gary has been responsible for strategic business development in the LNG and offshore terminal markets. |
